Children suffering from cancer, living in distant villages and towns in India, must travel all the way to the Mumbai Tata Memorial Hospital, which provides free medical assistance. However, most cases that arrive in Mumbai for treatment do not have a place to stay. For this reason, the St. Jude India ChildCare Center provides hygienic homes and services for patients and the family accompanying them, which increase children’s response to their medical treatment.
