• The open peer review concept

  Authors can choose to have their submissions posted for open comments prior to, or in parallel with, the conventional peer review process generally required for pubblication on core journals.

  Anyone in the field may then post comments, provided they are prepared to identify themselves.

  This process may improve the quality of submitted papers and increase the chance for pubblication in journals in which the authors choose to publish.

  The Journal Nature has conducted an open peer review trial and is currently analysing the results.
