From Equity to Efficiency: The Sankalp–Cure2Children Model

In many low- and middle-income countries, children with cancer and severe blood disorders still face major barriers to timely diagnosis and specialized treatment. The
Sankalp–Cure2Children model addresses this gap by combining equity in access with efficiency in care delivery. Through a strategic partnership between Sankalp India
Foundation and Cure2Children Foundation, the initiative works to strengthen local healthcare systems, particularly in the treatment of thalassemia and pediatric cancers.
Rather than transferring patients abroad, the model prioritizes capacity building within local hospitals. Through telemedicine, structured training, and continuous clinical mentoring, international experts support local medical teams in performing complex procedures such as bone marrow transplantation.
This approach significantly reduces treatment costs while expanding the number of patients who can receive care. At the same time, it fosters improvements in clinical
standards, research capacity, and long-term treatment outcomes. By empowering local expertise, the Sankalp–Cure2Children collaboration demonstrates how equitable access to care can drive both sustainability and efficiency in global health systems.
