Presentations of C2C Activities at International Scientific Meetings

In November 2025, Dr. Lawrence Faulkner played a prominent role in several international conferences dedicated to pediatric bone marrow transplantation and hemoglobinopathies. At the Emirates Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant and Gene Therapy Congress in Abu Dhabi, held on 8–9 November, he presented the lecture “Opportunities and Challenges for Sickle Cell Disease Cure in Africa".Furthermore, from 26–28 November, at the Haemoglobinopathies Working Party del European Blood and Marrow Transplantation Group Annual Meeting 2025 in Regensburg, Germany, he delivered the presentation “Challenges & Priorities of Allogeneic Transplantation in Unequal Settings” illustrating how access to transplantation can transform the prognosis of children affected by sickle cell disease in resource-limited contexts. In his presentations, Faulkner shared the experience developed by the Cure2Children Foundation in creating sustainable, telemedicine-based transplant programs, emphasizing the importance of local team training, international cooperation, and ethical, sustainable models of care.
