On Monday June 20 we have an appointment with Dr. Huma Qureshi, Executive Director of the Pakistan Medical Research Council. She receives us promptly and very kindly. I am very glad that she seems to be well posted on talassemia, its relevance in Pakistan, and the goals of the Cure2Childen Foundation project. She was actually the one that in early 2007, on request of Khalid, very kindly wrote an official letter inviting me to Pakistan and also contacted several potentially interested institution. We have a very clear and constructive discussion of more than 30 minutes during which we update her on our progress. We very much appreciate her effort to arrange a meeting that same morning with Director of General Health, Dr. Rashid Jooma. We briefly present our project, also Dr. Jooma, he seems interested and also well informed on thalassemia in Pakistan.

We are very happy of having had the opportunity to present and discuss our work with very important people in the health administration of Pakistan. The meeting has been interesting, constructive and pleasant, both Sadaf and I have the feeling that they will do whatever they can to support our project.
